On Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 2:07 pm, all of heaven rejoiced as Mother Mary Alice Holland-Jefferson made her triumphant entrance across the "Portals of Glory."

She was born on May 9, 1939, in the town of Savannah, GA, to the parents of the late Jimmie Roberts and Lillie Roberts and was later raised as their own by the late Carrie Lee Holland and Johnny Holland.

Mother Mary Jefferson was married to the late Bishop Wallace Jefferson, Jr. They served together in ministry and she was the First Lady of, the Main Street COG, Palm Bay COG, Fellsmere COG and the Clermont COG. She was a faithful and devoted wife for 38 years and remained faithful and devoted widow to her beloved Wallace because after his demise, she never remarried.

She was a member of the Wabasso COG where she served faithfully and joyfully as a church mother, Sunday school teacher and member, attended noonday prayer, Bible Study and was very mission minded. Beause of the Jesus that was in her, she was so, so easy to love and her angelic smile could melt a heart of stone!
Mother Mary believed in doing what was right and anything short of that just was not acceptable. She was an extremely loving person but would chastise you when you needed it. She did it in such a way that you could not be angry at all.

Before retirement, she was gainfully employed as a surgica/operationl technician at Sebastian River Medical Center. For 37 years she had the responsibility of making sure that the surgery instruments were cleaned and properly sterilized. She was also a faithful and hard-working employee of Thorne's Mortuary where she was in charge of guest registry documentation, distrubution of prayer cards and programs and greeted those who attended the services with superb hosptality. She could be trusted to exercise extrerme care in whatever was placed in her keeping, and most of all, she was always on time, time, time!

Along with her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by: two sons, Michael Anthony Jefferson and Wallace Jefferson, III; sister, Bernice Battles; brothers, Isaac O. Roberts, Nelson Roberts and Carlton Roberts.

Surviving to cherish her sweet memories are her children: one daughter, Pamela Carter (Kenneth) of Sebastian, FL; her sons, Henry Jefferson (Jodie) of Williston, NC, Tony Jefferson (Dannette) of Port Salerno, FL, Reverend Lorenzo Jefferson of Sebastian, FL, Jerome Jefferson (Martha) of Tucson, AZ, Reverend Dennis Jefferson of Sebastian, FL and Christopher Jefferson of Sebastian, FL; brothers, George Roberts (Nettie) of Pearson, GA, Herman Roberts of Douglas, GA, Jimmie Roberts, Jr. of Willacoochie, GA and Allen Roberts (Cheryl) of Blackshear, GA; sisters, Shirley Moore of Waycross, GA and Wanda Jean Griffin (Lonnie) of Willacoochie, GA; 27 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Ava M. Stinson; brothers-in-law, Bishop Andrew Jefferson (Ruth), Odell Jefferson (Rose) and Walter Jefferson; sisters-in-law, Virginia Jackson and Vivian Coney (Edward); loving and devoted niece, Diane Johnson (Roy) of Sebastian, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors, church family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation: Will be held at the Wabasso Church of God from 4pm-7pm on Friday, September 4th, 2020.
Face masks must be worn and social distancing will be enforced.

A Graveside Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2020, 9:00am at
the West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso, FL with Bisdhop John A. Thorne, officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.

I Can't believe I'm writing this... I Just Miss You so much already. August 25th Broke My Heart To A Zillion Pieces that can NEVER BE REPAIRED! I Know You would want Me to be rejoicing, to be strong and to hang in there but this is HARD!! Mother You left Us to soon when our hearts were NOT ready. I'm Grateful to God for the many, many memories that you etched in my heart. I will NEVER FORGET You, Your smile, your sweet voice, your laughter, just stopping by your house to eat seafood with you, your phone calls (just because), you praying for me, your listening ears, and most of all You saying to me, "I Ain't Studying you and Tony"!! I Promise to take care of THE FAMILY, Your Boys(Tony and Wallace), and Your Son(My Husband) Tony! Eating Seafood Will NEVER BE THE SAME! But Me and Andrea Will Hold It Down Until We Meet Again. I Love You Mother... For Always.. Rest In Jesus
