Wendy was born to the late Timothy McGahee, Sr. and the late Nora Bell Anderson McGahee, in Jersey City, New Jersey.

She is a graduate of South Fork High School in Martin County. Wendy has a beautiful operatic soprano/gospel voice and is a protegee of the late Professor Ronnie E. Staley.

She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education with a Minor in German at Bethune Cookman College - Daytona Beach, Florida and a Masters of Music/Vocal Performance from Rice University, Shepherd School of Music- Houston, Texas. She has also studied music at the University of Heidelberg, Germany and the University of Texas - Austin, Texas.

Wendy has travelled abroad with the Concert Chorale under the direction of the renown Dr. Rebecca W. Steele - Bethune Cookman. She sang at the memorial service for the late Dr. Barbara Jordan.

She is a member of the Alpha Kappa

Alpha sorority, Inc., Sigma Alpha Iota, and the Houston Ebony Opera Guild.

Wendy is a member of the Wabasso Church of God. She is currently employed as with in Stuart, FL.

Wendy is the sister and adopted daughter of Reverend and Mrs. John A. Thorne.
