Mr. Willie Lee Smith, 84 of Stuart, FL (Port Salerno) passed away quietly on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Martin Memorial Health System-South in Stuart, FL. He was born in Marshallville, GA on November 2, 1931 to the parents of the late, Oscar Lee Smith and the late Corean Mathis-Smith. He attended the public schools of Macon County, GA and relocated to Martin County, FL in 1961. Before retirement, he was employed as a transportation supervisor for the Martin County School Board. Willie was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Stuart, FL and as served as a former trustee board member. Along with his parents, Mr. Willie Lee Smith was also preceded in death by: 3 children, Harlena Askew, Kenneth Smith and Debbie Smith; 3 brothers, Jeffrie Smith (Darlette), Otha Smith (Beulah) and Freddie Smith; 2 sisters, Precious Soloman (Willie) and Ida Rean Buckner (William). He leaves behind to cherish his beautiful memories: his devoted wife, Virginia Smith of Stuart, FL; 6 caring sons, Willie B. Smith (Alice) of Fort Pierce, FL, Albert Smith (Debbie) of Eustis, FL, Gregory Smith (Kathy) of Fort Valley, GA, Jerry Smith (Cecelia) of Stuart, FL, Jimmy Smith (Connie) of Stuart, FL and Lorenzo Howard of Perry, GA; 7 loving daughters, Jeanette Lee (John) of Fort Pierce, FL, Linda Robinson of Warner Robins, GA, Vanessa Lawson (Robert) of Macon, GA, Rose Fate (James) of Chuluota, FL, Elaine Ages of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kassandra Patterson of Port Salerno, FL, and Diana Dotson of Port Salerno, FL; 2 brothers, Oscar Smith, Jr. (Bessie) of Fort Valley, GA and Robert Lewis Smith of Stuart, FL; 2 sisters, Bertha Ruth Postell (James) of Mount Vernon, NY and Mary Elizabeth Smith of Marshallville, GA; 38 grandchildren and a host of other relatives including, additional generations of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services: Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 4pm-7pm at the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in Stuart, FL on SE Bahama Ave. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Port Salerno Church of God, 4605 SE Cove Rd in Stuart, FL (Port Salerno) at 1:00pm with Minister Jimmy Smith, (Son)officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Valley, GA at Goodwill Cemetery, on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 1:00pm. Local arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
