Obituary for Willie Beathia Jr.

Mr. Willie Beathia, Jr., 61, of Fort Pierce, FL died at Treasure Coast Hospices in Stuart, FL. He was born in Barnwell, SC to the late Willie Beathia, Sr. and Inez Cannon-Beathia. His primary and secondary education was completed in the public schools of Barnwell County, SC and Martin County, Florida. Before becoming disabled, Mr. Beathia was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a testing engineer. He was a member of the Church of God in Indiantown, FL and the Fort Pierce Chapter of the NAACP. Mr. Beathia served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge after serving during the Vietnam War (1966-1968). Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Gray-Beathia; the mother of his children, Rosa Mae Beathia-Wright; a brother, Horace Howard and a sister, Rose Howard. Left to cherish his memory and celebrate his homegoing are: 3 daughters, Aquailla Beathia-Morival (Elius), Faith Coleman(Floyd) and Precious Hurst, all of Stuart, FL; 3 stepchildren, Shirley Gray-Morgan, John Gray (Ree) and George Gray (Rena), all of Lakeland, FL; 4 sisters, Geneva B. Howard and Willen B. Howard of Ft. Pierce, FL, Minnie Wilson of Stuart, FL and Annie Ruth Howard of Tampa, FL; 4 brothers, Henry B. Howard (Christine) of Philadelphia, PA, Lorenzo Howard of Okeechobee, FL, James Howard of Stuart, FL and Jimmie Howard of Jacksonville, FL; 8 grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 4-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart, FL. "A Homegoing Celebration" will be observed on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11:00am, St. Paul AME Church in Stuart, FL with Reverend Paul Roberts, Officiating. The Reverend James C. Watson is the pastor. Military honors and burial will follow on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 11:30 am at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. Thorne's Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
