Obituary for Willie James Alexander Jr.

Willie James Alexander, Jr., 6 years old of Okeechobee, FL passed away at Raulerson Hospital in Okeecho-bee. "Junior", as he was affectionately known, was born to the parents of Willie James Alexander, Sr. and Margaret Ann Boone-Alexander in Belle Glade, FL and was a resident of Okeechobee since infancy. Having just been promoted to the 1st grade at South Elementary School in Okeechobee, he was looking forward for school to begin in the fall. Willie was a member of Hope Ministries, Inc. in Okeechobee. Willie Jr. was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alex and Maggie Boone and his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Mary Elizabeth Alexander. Surviving to cherish his brief but beautiful life are: his loving parents, Willie James Alexander, Sr. and Margaret Ann Boone-Alexander of Okeechobee; devoted siblings, Shaketa Boone (Andrew)and Desmond Smith of Leesburg, FL, Demetrice Boone, D'Andre Smith, Derrious Smith and Devon Smith, all of Okeechobee, FL; a godmother, Donna Kellman (Terry) of Okeechobee; 2 godsisters, Alkeisha Clayton and Jerronda Dortch; 2 godbrothers, Horace Gordon and Marquavious Williams; uncles, Chester Wallace and Alex Boone of Okeechobee, FL; aunts, Bertha Williams and Mary Walters of Columbus, GA, Georgia Dixon (John), Phoenix, AZ, Joanne Boone, South Bay, FL, Shirley Boone, Selma, AL, Shirley Moorer (Charles), Belle Glade, FL and Ossie Wallace (Rudy); his pastor and friend, Bishop Kenneth E. Williams (Lady Georgia); one niece and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends and classmates and church family who will forever miss him. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 4pm-7pm at Hope Ministries, Inc., Okeechobee, FL. A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010, 11am at the church with the pastor, Bishop Kenneth E. Williams, officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest book.
