Obituary for Wayne Morris Floyd Sr.

Mr. Wayne M. Floyd, 53 yrs. old, of Port Saint Lucie, FL died on Saturday, at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port Saint Lucie. He was born to the late Elijah Floyd and Loverlue Floyd on May 24, 1954 in Birmingham, AL. Mr. Floyd completed his primary and secondary education in the public schools of Birmingham. Moving from Alabama, Wayne has been a Florida resident for over 25 years, and before becoming disabled, he was employed as a landscaper and then he worked in housekeeping at Martin Memorial Hospial in Stuart, FL. He was a member of the Lake Street Church of Christ in Stuart, FL where he formerly served as a deacon. His survivors include: a loving and devoted wife, Carolyn McFadden Floyd of Port Saint Lucie, FL; caring sons, Wayne Morris Floyd, Jr. and Terell Dwaine Floyd of Port Saint Lucie, FL; his mother, Loverlue Sanders of West Palm Beach, FL; three brothers, Elijah Floyd of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Ronnie Floyd of Birmingham, AL and Carl Sanders of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Amanda Floyd and Michelle Sanders of West Palm Beach, FL; a goddaughter Nicole Brown of Port Salerno, FL; other family members include, brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, church family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30th, from 4-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 1st, 11:00am at the Lake Street Church of Christ in Stuart with Minister Henry D. McFadden, officiating. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart.
