Obituary for Vivian Roberts Mother

On Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 8:15pm, (at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, FL), tears saturated the earth, but heaven rejoiced as Mother Vivian Roberts, 84, of Jupiter, FL crossed over the portals of glory. She was born in Americus, GA. on March 30, 1928 to the parents of Henry Burton and Riscoe Burton. She attended the public schools of Americus, GA. and moved to West Palm Beach in 1948. In 1951, she relocated with her family to Jupiter, FL and then in 1992 she joined the Jupiter Church of God where she served faithfully on the Mother's Board until her health began to fail. Before retirement she was employed as a chef working at the Comeau Coffee Shop in West Palm Beach, the Juno Ranch in Juno Beach, FL, Frank Sardina Restaurant and the Lighthuse Restaurant in Jupiter, FL. Later he was employed by the Palm Beach County School Board workingb at Jupiter High School until 1982. Mother Roberts also resided in Port St. Lucie for a few years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Robertds, Sr.; a son, Jesse Roberts, Jr.; grandson, Lee Roberts; 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Survivors include: 3 daughters, Lessie Peeples of Lake Worth, FL, Deloris Bordley of Jupiter, FL; and Velma Ratliff of Port St. Lucie, FL; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Jupiter Church of God from 3pm-4pm. A homegoing celebration will begin 4pm at the church with the pastor Bishop Michael Reid officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 10am-11am at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel. A celebration of life will begin 11am with Rivergate Kingdom Hall of Port St. Lucie officiating. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in West Palm Beach, FL. Arrangements are have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest book.
