Obituary for Valerie E. Blake

Valerie E. Blake, 70 of Fort Pierce, FL passed away at Port St. Lucie Nursing and Restorative Care in Port St. Lucie, FL. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica to the parents of the late James Blake and Elma Brown and was educated in the Jamaican School System. She moved to St. Lucie County over 8 years ago from New York and while in New York she was employed as a certified nursing assistant. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ronald, Louis, and Bernard Blake and 2 sisters, Doreen Delesea and Beverly Troutman. Survivors include: a son, Robert Lindsay (Marsha) of Kingston, Jamaica; 4 daughters, Carol E. Betty (Richard) of Fort Pierce, FL, Debbie L. Shephard of Kingston, Jamaica, Andrea N. Ellis (Quebel) and Brookglass V. Lindsay both of Orlando, FL; a sister, Ferris Blake-Robinson (Eric) of Miramar, FL; 3 brothers, Samuel Blake of Bronx, NY, Nathan Blake (Trudy) of Manchester, England and Nicholas Blake of Kingston, Jamaica; 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 10am-11am at the Worship Center Int'l in Port St. Lucie. A home going celebration will begin 11am at the church on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11am with Dr. Ephraim Jackson officiating and Bishop Gerald G. Green is pastor. Burial will follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Port St. Lucie. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest registry.
