Obituary for Tracy Elaine Christie Lanier

Tracy Elaine Christie Lanier, 50 of Stuart, FL passed away at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, FL. She was born in Stuart, FL to the parents of Commissioner James A. Christie, Jr. and Helen L. (Ingram) Christie. Tracy was educated in the Martin County School System and graduated from Martin County High School in the class of 1979. She received an Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion Design from Indian River Community College (now Indian River State College) and she also attended Florida State University. She was employed by Home Depot as a sales clerk in the lighting and light fixture department, in Stuart and was a member of St. Monica's Episcopal Church in Stuart. Tracy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James A. Christie, Sr. & Minnie Christie, and maternal grandparents, Otis Ingram and Viola Ingram. Survivors include: a son, Milton C. Lanier, Jr. of Stuart, FL; her parents, Stuart Commissioner James A. Christie, Jr. and Helen L. Christie of Stuart, FL; brother, Gary N. Christie of Stuart, FL, Donald O. (Ellen)Christie of Tallahassee, FL and James A. Christie, III ((Ann) of Port St. Lucie, FL; aunts, Maude Moore of Chicago, IL, Viera Wooten (Wendell)and Altamese Jackson (Harold) of Stuart, FL, Cecelia Hodge of Philadelphia, PA; uncles, Lorenza Christie (Loretta) of Jensen Beach, FL, Bernard Christie (Della) of Hobe Sound, FL and Randolph Christie (Debra)of Stuart, FL; great aunts, Thelma Cartlege, Mantha Washington (Leroy) and Latonia Gary (Freddie), all of Stuart, FL; and a host of other relatives including nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including a special friend, Van Newton and special cousin, Carmen Washington and the St. Monica Church Family. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart from 4pm-7pm. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Monica's Episcopal Church in Stuart at 10am. with Father & Mother Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary, Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest registry.
