Tommie Lee Roberson, 78 of Wabasso, FL, went home to be with the Lord at 11:20p.m., July 23, 2009 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, FL. She was born in Ocala, FL to the parents of Tommy and Georgia James and attended the public schools of Marion County, FL. Ms. Roberson moved to Indian River County, FL in the early 1960's from Ocala. She was self-employed in elderly care. Ms. Roberson was a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Wabasso where she served as a missionary and on the usher board. She was also a member of AMICAE in Vero Beach,FL. She is survived by a step-son, Thurman Roberson, Jr. (Angela) of Jacksonville, FL; 3 step-daughters, Vera Nell Jones (Sammy) of Deltona Beach, FL, Linda D. Peterson of Wabasso, FL and Benny M. Staton-Campbell (Raymond) of Orange Park, FL; a niece, Sally Williams of Vero Beach, FL; her loving niece, Sally Williams of Vero Beach, FL; nephews, Lorenzo James and Charles James, Jr. of Miami, FL; great-niece, Felicia Williams-Calvez of St Louis, MO; great-nephew, Freddie Williams, Jr. of Orlando, FL; 4 grand-nieces and nephews; a host of extended family members and fiends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 4pm-7pm at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Wabasso. A "Homegoing Celebration" will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the church at 11:00am with Reverend Dennis Hart pastor/officiating. Burial will follow at West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso.
