Mother Thelma McKinney, 75 a resident of Miami, FL died at Aventura Hospital in Miami, FL. She was born in Millard, VA. daugther of the late Dewey C. and Bessie M. Mullins Compton. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Texas, Wyoming, and overseas in France. She was a member of Put God First Ministries in Miami and helped with the Trinity Broadcasting Network in Pembroke Pines, FL. She worked as a Practical Nurse, a Beautician and for the FBI in support personell. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William E. "Bill" Compton, Jack Compton and Bobby Compton. She is survived by two sisters, Janice C. Patterson of Hanover, PA and June M. Stierwalt of Chesterfield, IN; a brother, Charles V. Compton of Meadowview, VA; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 4pm on Friday, September 26, 2008 at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA with Reverend James Beavers officiating. Castlewood Funeal Home is in charge. A memorial service will be held at Put God First Ministries in Miami at 11:00am on Saturday, October 4, 2008, with Ass't Pastor Tiffany N. Thorne, Officiating and Pastor Garry Souffrant is Senior Pastor.
