Obituary for Stanley Whitman Blount Sr.

Mr. Stanley Whitman Blount, Sr. 63, of West Palm Beach, FL went home to be with the Lord, in the quietness of his home, surrounded by the angelic host. He is now rejoicing, resting from his labor, enjoying the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in New York, New York to the parents of the late Willie James Blount and Christine Bowe Blount. Stanley relocated to Florida with his family over 61 years ago. He attended school in Saint Lucie and Palm Beach County and boarding school in South Carolina. He graduated from Palm Beach Jr. College and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Palm Beach Atlantic University. During his lifetime he was employed with Pratt & Whitney as an Engineering Assistant and then in Personnel for over 20 years; Director of Human Resources and formerly Director of Risk Management at the Oakwood Center in West Palm Beach, FL; and Director of Human Resources at the Hanley Center in West Palm Beach, FL. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force and Army Reserves. He was a member of Gray's Temple C.M.E. Church in West Palm Beach where he served faithfully as a Trustee, member of the Steward's Board, Men's Choir, and Finance Committee. Survivors include but are not limited to: his loving and devoted children, Janelle Antoinette Blount (fiance' Erron) of Los Angeles, CA and Stanley Whitman Blount, Jr. (fiancee Linda) of Stuart, FL. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 5pm-7pm at Gray's Temple C.M.E. Church in West Palm Beach, FL. A homegoing celebration will be held at the church on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in West Palm Beach, FL with the Reverend James A. Allen former pastor and pastor of Peaceful Valley C.M.E. Church in Hobe Sound, FL officiating and Pastor Whitmore present pastor and pastor of Gray's Temple C.M.E. Church in West Palm Beach, FL presiding. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in West Palm Beach, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the loving care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest registry.
