Obituary for Ruby Holland Ms.

Ms. Ruby Holland, 96 of Palm Beach County, went home to be with the Lord at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Quitman, GA (Brooks County) to the parents of the late Isaac and Flora Jean Brinson. She grew up and attended school in Quitman, and during her early childhood moved to Boston, GA. She met and married the late Howard Holland, Sr. and to this union 10 children were born. She was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Boston, GA since the age of 15. Later in life she served on the Mother's Board and was employed as a school cafeteria cook. As her health began to fail, she relocated to Palm Beach County and has lived there for 4 years. Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, William Holland; brothers, Man, Duke, Damon and Lit Brinson; sisters, Martha Lee Bonnie and LV Grant; grandsons, Joe Hayward and Frank O. Hayward; a son-in-law, David Lumpkin and daughter-in-law, Cornelia B. Holland. Survivors include: 4 caring sons, Leroy Holland, Sr. (Sam) of Jupiter, FL, James Holland of West Palm Beach, FL, Clarence Holland (Freda) and Howard Holland, Jr. (Renee) of Riviera Beach, FL; five devoted daughters, Dorothy Turner (O.T.) of West Palm Beach, FL and Eva Mae Holland of West Palm Beach, FL, Amie Lumpkin of Cleveland, OH, Delores Harrison (Kelvin) of Boston, GA and Corine Reynolds ( Eddie) of Thomasville, GA 2 brothers, Ree Brinson of Delray Beach, FL and Buddy Brinson of Boston, GA; 36 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives, in-laws and devoted friends in Florida and South Carolina. Services: Local arrangements are have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary of Stuart, FL. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 1:00pm at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Boston, GA where Rev. Horace Holloway, III is pastor and Reverend William E. Sales is officiating. Burial will follow at the Boston Cemetery in Boston, GA. Groom's Funeral Home in Thomasville, GA is in charge of out of town arrangements. Please sign the guest book.
