Obituary for Ruben Lee Davis

Mr. Ruben Lee Davis, 60 of Stuart, FL passed away at Martin Memorial Hospital-North on May 21, 2018 in Stuart, FL. He was born in Stuart, FL to the parents of Mattie Mae Dixon-Davis and the late George Davis, Sr.  Ruben affectionately know by those who knew him best as "RuBob and Stagger Lee", was educated in the public schools of Martin County and graduated from Martin County High School (MCHS) in Stuart. He was a jack of all trades and entrepreneur of a tree trimming and lawn care business.  Ruben kept busy assisting others with renovation and home improvement projects. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Stuart and was a member of the  Gospel Choir, Men's Choir, Usher Board Sons of Allen and Stewart. Along with his father, George Davis, Sr., Ruben was also preceded in death by: his siblings, George, Jonathan, Albert, Ella and Eddie Davis, Sr.; and godparents, Mr. James and Mrs. Gertrude Thomas. Surviving to cherish his precious memories are: a loving mother, Mattie Mae Davis of Stuart, FL; 4 sisters, Beretha Davis, Ocella Davis and Bridget Freeman (Gene), all of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Selena Davis of Stuart, FL; 4 brothers, Alfred Davis (Willie Mae) of Chesapeake, VA, Lawrence Davis, Larry Davis (Natalie) and John Davis, all of Stuart, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, church family and friends who will dearly miss his kindness and willingness to serve his fellow man unconditionally. Services:  Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 4pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel.  A celebration of life will be held  on Saturday, June, 2, 2018 11am at St. Paul A.M.E. Church 900 SE East Avenue in Stuart, 34994 with the pastor Reverend Melvin Hymes officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
