Mrs. Rozenia K. Carter, 72, of Stuart, FL died at her residence, surrounded by the love and tears of her caring family. She was born in Surrency, GA to the parents of the late Willie Lee King and the late Beatrice Boykin-King. She attended school in Appling County, GA and graduated from appling County High School. Rozenia moved to Martin County in 1956 from Georgia after her marriage to Marvin Carter, Sr. She a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart and served as a member of the Pastor's Aid, Choir, Mission Dept., Culinary Aid and Sunday School Department. She was employed by Zena Leighton for 54 years and retired from the Martin County School District after 13 years of employment. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel King and Roger King; five sisters, Inez Grant, Bessie Mae Love, Minnie Lee Bell, Margaret Smith and Claretha Smith; and son-in-law, Reverend Mance Wobbleton, Sr. Survivors include: her husband, Deacon Marvin Carter, Sr. of Stuart, FL; caring children, Irving King, Marnetta Thomas, Patricia Wobbleton, Marvin Carter, Jr. and Marlet Carter all of Stuart, FL; three adopted sons, Willie Edwards, Victor Driver and Earl Bellamy (Donna Lynn), all of Stuart, FL; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lee Solomon and, Geraldine Jones of Baxley, GA, and Willie B. Jones of Jesup GA; brothers, Johnny C. King of Palatka, FL and Ike Jones of Wilmington, DE; sisters-in-law, Floreatha King of Surrency, GA, Pauline Leonard (Willie C.) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Ruby Duffy and Betty Carter of Stuart, FL; brothers-in-law, Rhodus Ricks of Stuart, FL, Nathaniel Jones of Baxley GA and Frank Carter (Shelly) of Palatka, FL; a special aunt, Eula Mae Carter of Winter Haven, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other family members and friends, including special friends, Willie Mae Hazelton, Joann Patterson, Willie Davis, Lillian Wesley, Minnie Jackson, Norma Jean Davis, Natherlee Johnson, Rosemary Springer, Linda King and Allen Thomas, Anne Coleman, Ruby Bell, Annie Leonard, Dessie Lewis and Dorothia O'Bryant. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart from 4pm-6pm. A "Homegoing Celebration" will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11:00am at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Stuart with Reverend Larry D. Andrews, Officiating and Reverend James C. Watson is host pastor. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart. Arrangements are by Thorne's Mortuary, Inc. of Stuart. Please sign the guest book.
