Mr. Roosevelt Jones Sr., 76, of Wabasso, FL (and former resident of Fellsmere, FL), died on Monday, April 28th, 2008 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL. He was born to the parents of the late Booker T. Jones, Sr. and Katie Mae Lewis on January 4, 1932 in Ocilla, GA. He was educated in the public schools of Irwin County, GA. Mr. Jones was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fellsmere. During his earlier years, he was employed as a truck driver for a local asphalt company. Survivors include: a devoted and loving wife, Alice Jones of Wabasso, FL; caring children, Tonnie Jones (Shirley) of Sebastian, FL, Anthony Jones and Roosevelt Jones, Jr. (Catherine) of Atlanta, GA, Charles Coe of Ft. Pierce, FL, Betty Ash of Wabasso, FL and Yvonne Coe of Ft. Pierce, FL; a brother, John L. Jones of Madison, FL; sisters, Elizabeth Jones of Palm Bay, FL, Queen Ella Yeater of Melbourne, FL and Lovie Jones of Buffalo, NY; 11 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and loving friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9th, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fellsmere from 5-8pm. "A Homegoing Celebration" will be observed on Saturday, May 10th at 11:00am at the church with Reverend Alzo Payne, Pastor/Officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fellsmere. Thorne's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
