Raymond Jones, 74, died in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at Florida Medical Center. He was born in Greensboro, FL to the parents of the late Johnny and Charlotte Jones. He was educated in the public schools of Palm Beach County, FL. He was married to the late Lorraine Johnson Jones. Mr. Jones was employed as a construction worker and later started his own lawn service. He was also a softball coach and DJ. Along with his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalyn Jones. He leaves behind to fondly be remembered: a daughter, Sandra Jones of Hobe Sound, FL; a son, Curt Brown of Baltimore, MD; a stepson Cedric Williams of Miami, FL; 2 brothers, Johnnie Jones (Carolyn) of West Palm Beach, FL and Paul Jones of Porter, GA; 1 sister, Betty Jane Pelt of Bronson, FL; grandchildren, Latasha, Adrienne and Naphiteria Jones, all of Miami, FL, Raymond Jones of Hobe Sound, FL, Yolanda Sloan, Dedrick Reid, Jonita Brown and Curt Brown, all of Miami, FL; 31 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; a former wife, Mattie M. Pierre; and a long time friend, Amanda Floyd; godchildren, Lamont Moses of Port St. Lucie, FL, Sansirretha Thomas of West Palm Beach, FL and Horace Young Avery who is also a close cousin. Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart, FL. A service of memory will begin at 11:00am with Reverend Elker L.
