Peter Glenford Pickett, Sr., 54, a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Martin Memorial Health System- Tradition in Port St. Lucie. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica on December 21, 1962 to the parents of Olive Pickett and the late John Pickett. Peter completed his primary and secondary education in Jamaica. He moved to Port St. Lucie 4 years ago from Stone Mountain, GA and had lived in Stone Mountain for 17 years. Before his health failed, he was gainfully employed as a security officer for a broadcasting company. Peter was a giver and he will forever be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him as: kind-hearted, loving, giving, fun-loving and simply a joy to be around. "He would give you the shirt off of his back". He was preceded in death by his father, John Pickett.  Remaining behind to cherish his precious memory as well as celebrate his homegoing are: a loving and devoted wife, Beverley Pickett of Port St. Lucie, FL; 2 sons, Peter Glenford Pickett, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Stephan Pickett of Port St. Lucie, FL; a daughter, Roxanne Dearro (Franco) of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Olive Pickett of Kingston, JA; 4 brothers, Clive Burke of Orlando, FL, Ian Burke, Wayne Burke and Michael Burke, all of Kingston, JA; 3 adorable grandchildren, Makaila Dearro, Malik Dearro and Franco Dearro, Jr., all of Atlanta, GA; 1 godchild, Danielle Taylor of Gwinette, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including a special family friend, Iona Stephenson, who will miss him dearly. Services:  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5pm-7pm Thorne's Mortuary Chapel.  A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017, 11am at Word of Faith and Praise Church, Inc., 8251-8253 Business Park Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL.
