Obituary for Naomi H. Brinson Mother

Mother Naomi H. Brinson, 71, a resident of Indiantown, FL died on Mother's Day, May 11, 2008 at Martin Memorial Medical Center-South in Stuart, FL. She was born on September 18, 1936 in Houston, TX to the parents of K.W. Hutchinson and Willie Mae Williams. She has been a resident of Indiantown since 1971 moving from Maryland. She was a member of the Thompson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Indiantown and served as the "Church Mother", a faithful and dedicated member. Mother Brinson retired after owning her own childcare business. She has cared for generations of children throughout the Indiantown community, long before there were childcare/daycare establishments, and was affectionately known as "Mama". Mother Brinson was preceded in death by her parents, K.W. Hutchinson and Willie Mae Williams and her husband, Attichous Brinson. Survivors include: a son, Britt Diggins (Mai) of Jensen Beach, FL; three daughters, Francine Robinson of Philadelphia, PA, Surcelia Locci (Tony) of Chowchilla, CA and Dumosire Wright (Keith) of West Palm Beach, FL; a stepson, Willie Brinson (Albertha) of Indiantown, FL; a sister, M. Earline Whitfield Alexander of Chicago, IL; 15 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 8:30am-10:00am at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Indiantown, where the Reverend Robert Willis, Sr. is pastor. A "Homegoing Celebration" will be observed at the same church on Saturday, May 17th at 10:00am with her pastor, Elder Albert Byrd officiating. Burial will take place at Port Mayaca Cemetery in Port Mayaca, FL. Thorne's Mortuary, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
