Mr. Melvin Ortiz, 61 of Indiantown, FL passed away at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.
He was born in Stuart, FL to the parents of Francisco Ortiz and Carmen Cabrera on July 1, 1959 and was educated in the public schools of Martin County.
During his lifetime he worked in the citrus industry.
Melvin is lovingly survived by: his ex-wife, Shelias Rea Neil; his children, Jermaine Daniels, Melvin Orriz, Jr., Tinin Carlos IOrtiz, Taneatha Ortiz, Antonyo Ortiz (Tanisha), Latahsa Ortiz, Tyran Ortiz and Isiah Ortiz; grandchildren, Amelia Rose,Jo'ona Filius, Taltianna Filius, Lamar Filius, Zarion Filius, Korsaun Filius, Scarlett Filius, Jordon Helton, Kyra Helton, Heaven Helton, Desiree Helton, Serenity Ortiz, Lariah Ortiz, Desiree Ortiz, Antonyo Ortiz, Jr., Kawhi Ortiz and Kassidi Ortiz; his siblings, Joseph Ortiz (Brenda) of Fort Pierce, FL, Louis Ortiz of Indiantown, FL, Pablo Garcia (Cindy) of West Palm, Beach, FL, Antonio Cabrera (Miranda) of Weatherford TX, and Victor Perez of Fort Pierce, FL; 2 sisters, Marisa Cabrera-Rampersadsingh of West Palm Beach, FL and Gregoria Perez of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation gathering will be held at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 4pm-6pm.
Facial masks must be worn and Covid-19 guidelines will be observed.
Repast will be held from 7pm-10pm at Revels, 8643 S Federal Hwy in Port St. Lucie, FL 34952
