Ms. Melveta Lascena Castell, a resident of Maplewood, NJ and formerly of Union, NJ passed away on July 13, 2011. She was employed as a teacher of language arts in the Orange School System for several years and a contract administrator of Lucent Technologies for 17 years. Survivors include: a son, Brian Castell; mother, Elsie Lyttelton of Port St. Lucie, FL; stepfather, Crofton Lyttelton; brothers, Donovan, Lee Castell, Mark, Kempton Lyttelton; sisters, Beverly Clarke, and Yulan Lyttelton. Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 for 11:am-12 noon at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart. A homegoing service will begin at 12 noon at the chapel, with Bishop Glenford Hutchinson, pastor of the Port Salerno Church of God in Port Salerno, FL officiating. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL. Out of town arrangements were handled by Judkins Colonial Chapel, Inc. in Planfield, NJ.
