Obituary for McKinley Crist

McKinley *Charlie* Crist, a resident of Stuart, FL, peacefully departed this life on June 29, 2023. He was born in Blacksville, SC to the parents of the late Leroy Crist and Gelemer Thomas.

He was educated in the public schools of Martin County, FL at Stuart Training School. He enlisted into the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War (Okinawa) and received an honorable discharge.

At an early age, he was baptized at Frost Branch Baptist Church, Blacksville, SC. He was a lover of music and played the bass guitar with the Lloyd Jackson-N-Rocketeer and also was a member of the 100
counts band.

He married the love of his life Ida Mae White in 1967 and to this union 4 children were born.

He was employed at Grumman Aircraft and Grant*s Furniture, where he was an extremely gifted cabinet maker.

McKinley made his peaceful transition at Cleveland Clinic-North Hospital in Stuart, FL.

He was preceded in death by his son Charles Crist, daughter Beverly Crist, brother Herbert Crist and sisters Marion and Janice Crist. Remaining behind to cherish his memories are his devoted wife, Ida MaeCrist; sons. Andre Crist of Orlando, FL and Keith Crist of Stuart, FL; a daughter, Mia Crist of Stuart, FL; sisters. Dorothy Roberts of Rosedale, MD and Virginia Dennis of West Palm Beach, FL; a brother, Samuel Crist of Miami, FL and daughter-in-law, Tamara Crist of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Charles, Quinlan, Kyla, Ke*Aundre, Costello, Janiah, Heaven, Alajia, Andre*az, Alonna, Sasha, Caden, Raimi, Cayman,Chandler, and Mckenzie; great-grandchildren, Aubree, A*Lahni, Ke*Aundre Jr., Stella; and a host of other relatives and friends who will
miss him dearly.

Burial will follow on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 10am. If you are planning to attend the burial, you must be on time! The funeral home processional will be leaving at 8:15am if you care to leave with us or you may meet us at the cemetery.
