Mrs. Mattie R. London, 86 of Wabasso, FL went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2018 at VNA Hospice in Vero Beach, FL. She was born in Montezuma, Georgia to the parents of the late Frank and Lottie Pasley on November 4, 1932 and  has been a resident of Indian River County since 1955.  During her lifetime she was employed at a rehabilitation facility in the housekeeping department. Mrs. London, "a joy to know", was a devoted wife who loved unconditionally, was extremely kind, and enjoyed her family immensely. She was preceded in death by : her parents , Frank and Lottie Pasley; husband , John Wesley London; a daughter , Frankie Mae Gervin; a son , Leartis Shedrick; a brother , Jack Pasley, and a sister , Kaselle Wilkins. Remaining behind to cherish her precious memories are: 4 loving sons , Franklin D. Shedrick (Iris) of Palm Bay, FL, Joel Shedrick (Gloria) of St. Petersburg, FL, Johnnie Shedrick and Terry Smith both of Wabasso, FL; 5 devoted daughters , Kathaleen Ross of Vero Beach, FL, Lottie Johnson of St. Petersburg, FL, Gloria Petithomme (Roger) and Cietrus Dawkins (Terry) both of Wabasso, FL and Olivia Bradshaw of Sebastian, FL; a stepmother , Reva Pasley of Jesup, GA; 3 loving sisters , Maeola Bryant of Wabasso, FL, Carolyn Bryant, Patricia Moody and Bertha Bourne all of Jesup, GA; ex-husband and father of her children , Recy Smith of St. Petersburg, FL; 29 grandchildren , 51 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. Services:  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5pm-6:30pm at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, 8550 64th Avenue in Wabasso, FL  32970.  A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:30am at the church where Reverend Denny Hart is Host Pastor, Bishop Willie C. Sands, (Word of Faith Church-St. Petersburg, FL) Officiating and Elder Vernon Reason (Pastor of Hallowed Bread Community Church in Melbourne, FL) is the Eulogist.  She will await the resurrection at West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the professional care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
