Mary J. Dawsey Mackey, 78, of Jensen Beach, FL went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Martin Memorial Health Systems-North in Stuart, FL. She was born to the parentage of the late Telma Dawsey and the late Georgia Lee Williams Dawsey in Gordon, AL. Her primary and secondary education was completed in the public schools of Gordon and she has been a resident of Jensen Beach for 57 years. Mary was a member and church mother of Soaring Faith Ministries under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Larry Bender. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, watching game shows, sports and the cooking television channels. Remaining to mourn her passing, as well as celebrate her homegoing are: a loving husband, George F. Mackey, Jr. of Jensen Beach, FL; devoted daughters, Madeline Washington of Hollywood, FL, Kimmy Nails (Roderick), Valerie Mackey, and Verna Mackey, all of Port St. Lucie, FL; loving sons, Ohara Mackey (Ruth) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Gerald Mackey (Pamela) of Stuart, FL and Frank Mackey (Bonita) of Port St. Lucie, FL; brothers, George Dawsey (Angela) and Telma Dawsey, Jr. of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters, Neotha Jones of Fort Pierce, FL, Doris Williams of Orlando, FL and Linda Dawsey of Fort Piere, FL; 11 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will forever miss her. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Soaring Faith Ministries, 2110 NE Arch Street, Jensen Beach, FL 34958. A Celebration of Her Life and Legacy will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11am at the church with the pastor, Rev. Dr. Larry Bender officiating. She will await the resurrection at Washington Cemetery in Jensen Beach, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
