Obituary for Lura Mae Davis Mother

Mother Lura Mae Davis , a 75 year old resident of Indiantown, FL went home to be the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
She was born in Nashville, GA  to the parents of Eddie Jenkins and Corine Moore Jenkins.  Mother Davis was educated in the public schools of Berrien County, GA. She moved to Indiantown 56 years ago and later met and married Nathaniel Davis Sr.  Mother Davis was a member of the Pahokee Church of God and served as a church mother. She was formerly employed as a certified nursing assistant at Stuart Nursing and Restorative Care and Salerno Bay Manor Nursing Homes. 
Mother Davis was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Greg.
Survivors include: a devoted husband , Nathaniel Davis Sr., of Indiantown; 3 caring sons , Willie B. Davis Sr. (Phyllis) of Pembroke Pines, Phaion C. Davis of Indiantown and Nathaniel Davis Jr. (Tachia) of Orlando; 4 loving daughters , Alsaida L. Jones (Jonathan) of Atlanta, GA, Winifred Charles (Jean) and Clara M. "Tausha" Mervin (Bernard) of Indiantown and Sabrina F. Green (Mark) of Riviera Beach; 22 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren; 6 sisters , Christine Bennett (Willie C.), Elbert Jean Beale (Charles), Cindy Miller (William), Louvenia Jackson (Willie C.) and Margaret Foster (Larry), all of Nashville, GA and Clara Futch (Gary) of West Palm Beach, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other in-laws, church family, neighbors and friends.
Services : Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Pahokee Church of God in Pahokee, FL from 10am until service time.  A homegoing celebration will begin at 12:00 o'clock noon at the church, with the pastor, Bishop Bud Mickins, officiating.  Burial will follow in Port Mayaca Cemetery.
