Obituary for Lotus Hazel King-Fryson

As we bow to the will of an Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God, it is with our deepest sympathy that, we announce the sudden passing of our very own, Lotus King-Fryson.
"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."

Lotus Hazel King-Fryson was born on October 14, 1972, in Jacksonville, FL. She was blessed with loving parents Willie Lee King and the late Hazel Lotus Pettway King.

Lotus was educated in the public school system of Martin County and graduated from South Fork High School, class of 1990.

She was employed by Bank United for over 16 years as a Teller Manager, Assistant Branch Manager and an Operations Specialist. Lotus was also a dedicated and devoted female attendant of Thorne's Mortuary.

Lotus was very active in her community for many years. She served as a cheerleading coach, cheerleading commissioner and a board member for the Hobe Sound Hurricanes, Port Salerno Panthers and Martin County South Bull Dogs. One of Lotus' favorite things to do was, dance and have a good time. She loved music.

Lotus was a faithful member of New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Hobe Sound, FL. There she served as a Youth Department Leader, Youth Choir Director, Youth Usher Board Leader, Adult Choir Member and Church Treasurer.

Late Monday night on July 10th, 2023, one year and one day after her mother's funeral, Lotus drifted into the arms of the Lord, at the age of 50. She was released from her earthly labor and peacefully ushered into a place of peace, joy, happiness, no more pain and back together with her mother.

Lotus Hazel King- Fryson was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Lotus Pettway King and her special cousin, Ollie Harvey.

She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories, as well as celebrate her life: her husband Shawn Fryson Hobe Sound, FL; father, Willie Lee King; four beloved children, Anthony L. Smiley Jr. *Smiley Jr.* Hobe Sound, FL, Tyrique E. Lewis, "The Favorite" of Mayport Naval Base Jacksonville, FL, Paris N. Speaks "Suga" of Hobe Sound, FL and Tiara M. Lewis of Plymouth, NH; 1 grandchild, Zion A. Smiley; 1 grandchild (yet to be born), Atlas A. Smiley; a loving and devoted daughter-in-law, Ursula T. Smiley "Urs"; 2 special daughters Carlyon Thomas "Red", Kimberly Scott "Meriah"; 3 special grandchildren, Brayden Williams, Aubrey Williams, and Carter Williams. Father and Mother in law Wilbert and Beverly Fryson Tallahassee Fl; Brother in law William Fryson Sr (Tenika); bonus children, Tianne Fryson of Stuart, FL, Tahmira Fryson of Hobe Sound; bonus grandchildren, Malayan Jamison, Trequan Jamison Jr. & Christopher Rich Jr.; a host of aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, and nieces; god-children James Smallwood, Zackey Graham, Jakayla Clark, Aubrie Johnson and Jael Key.
