Obituary for Lottie Mae Williams

Lottie Mae Williams, 87 of Hobe Sound, FL went home to be with the Lord at Treasure Coast Hospice-Hay Madeira House in Stuart, FL. She was born to the parents of the late Randolph Dover Sr. and the late Beatrice Wells-Dover. Ms. Lottie was educated in the public schools of Talbot County Maryland. She was employed as a cook at Johnny Hamilton's Restaurant in Easton Maryland for a number of years and also worked for the Regal's, Bogart's and DuPont's families on Fisher's Island, New York. After moving to Florida, she joined Mount Zion MBC and was active in various roles. She was also employed as a cook for a couple of families on Jupiter Island. The family that she worked for on Jupiter Island was the Marshall Field's family. They loved her and she loved them as well. After retirement, they often visited her in the nursing home and at hospice. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roebuck Williams and a brother, Nathaniel Stanley. Survivors include: children, Larry Dover (Gloria) of Hobe Sound, FL, Calvin Williams (Terry)) of Potage, MI, Brenda Armour (Samuel) of Fountain Valley, CA, Beautisha Stewart of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Winifred Johnson of Port St. Lucie, FL and brother, Lester Stanley of Easton, MD; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sister-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2pm, Mount Zion Baptist Church in Hobe Sound. Burial will follow at Banner Lake Cemetery in Hobe Sound, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary.
