Lonnie Lee Bertion, 66 of Vero Beach, FL died at his residence surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Twin City, GA to the parents of the lated Roger Bertion and Thelma Banner. Mr. Bertion attended the public schools of Emanuel County, GA and moved to Indian River County in 1963. He was employed as a foreman in the construction industry. He attended the Church of God by Faith in Gifford, FL. Mr. Bertion was preceded in death by his parents and his devoted wife, Leola Virginia Bertion (1997). Survivors include: his loving children, Tommy Lee Bertion, Lisa Marie Smith (Elder Norman), Minister Solomon Bertion (Sasha), all of Vero Beach, FL and Clara Ann Pearson (Bobby) of Palm Bay, FL; 10 Granchildren, Antravious, Lonnie and Leon McCloud, Lilly, Takilya, and Solomon Bertion, Jr., Keyra Reed, Zachariah Bertion, all of Vero Beach, FL, Terry and Jarrett Davis of Palm Bay, FL; godchild, Queen Teague of Vero Beach, FL; sisters, Lucille Bartee (Nathaniel) of Orlando, FL, Johnnie Simmons of Vero Beach, FL, Vernita Jones (Reverend Sylvester) of Wabasso, FL, Clinetta Stuckey (Wilford), Jackie Austin (Larry) and Freddie Mae Joseph (Lucian), all of Vero Beach, FL; a brother, Joseph Simmons of Vero Beach, FL; a host of other relatives including, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other in-laws, church family, neighbors and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Church of God by Faith in Gifford, FL from 4pm-7pm. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 11:00am, New Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Gifford. Burial will follow at Gifford Cemetery in Gifford.
