Bro. Lloyd Lawson, Sr., 86, affec-tionately known as "Lil Buddy", went home to be with the Lord in the comfort and quietness of his home, surrounded by the love of his caring family. He was born in Cordele, GA to the parents of Willie Dave Lawson and Bessie Mae Perkins Lawson. He was a member of the Jupiter Church of God in Jupiter, FL. Before retirement he was employed in lawn maintenance. His favorite pastimes were lawn care, playing checkers and fishing. Bro. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Dave and Bessie M. Lawson; 4 brothers, John, Fred, Roosevelt and Willie Lawson; and 2 sisters, Annie Mae Torrence and Willie Mae Harper. Surviving to cherish his precious memories are: his devoted wife, Lizzie Ruth Lawson of Jupiter, FL; 4 caring sons, Lloyd Lawson, Jr., (Sara) of Riviera Beach, FL, Charles Lawson of Royal Palm Beach, FL, King Solomon Lawson (Wanda) of West Palm Beach, FL and Wyndell Lawson Gilliam (Katie) of Lantana, FL; 6 loving daughters, Carrie Pearl Martin and Anna Pendleton (Hubert) both of West Palm Beach, FL, Shirley A. Ingram (Johnny) of Albany, GA, Jean Farrell (Booker T.) and Rosa Owens (Bob)both of Riviera Beach, FL and Helen Gilliam of Daleville, AL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives church family and friends. Services: visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 from 4pm-7pm at the Jupiter Church of God in Jupiter, FL. A Home Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the church, 11am with Bishop John A. Thorne, former pastor/officiating. Bishop Michael E. Reid is pastor. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens Cemetery in West Palm Beach, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest registry.
