Obituary for Lewis Clark Jr.

Lewis Clark, Jr., 65, of Stuart, FL passed away at Martin Memorial Hospital-South. He was born in New Smyrna Beach, FL to the parents of the late Lewis Clark, Sr. and the late Maggie Burks Clark. Mr. Clark received his primary and secondary education in the public schools of Volusia County, FL. In 1970 he moved from New Smyrna Beach, FL to Martin County, FL where he later met and married the love of his life, Gladys Alridge on September 1, 1973. This union was blessed with one son, Loren Gerard Clark. Lewis was a member of the Port Salerno Church of God and the NAACP in Stuart, FL. Mr. Clark was a jack of all trades and worked for several companies, and on August 7, 2010 he retired from Hubbard Construction as a master mechanic for heavy duty equipment. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by two of his siblings, Thomas Clark and Mary Bea Kelly. Surviving to cherish his precious memories, and celebration his homegoing are: his beautiful and devoted wife, Gladys Alridge Clark of Stuart, FL; a loving son and, Loren Gerard Clark (Gina)of Port Salerno, FL; an adorable grandson, Lextin Gevin Clark of Port Salerno, FL; 4 caring brothers, Larry Clark (Della) of Jensen Beach, FL, Bobby Clark (Janice), and Jimmy Clark of Stuart, FL; 4 caring sisters, Betty Bormon of Jacksonville, FL, Alice Robinson of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Mary Davis (Jimmy) and Martha Clark of Stuart, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Isaiah (Ethel) Alridge of Hollister, FL, Mary (Eugene) Brown of Stuart, FL, Thelma (Leroy) Waters of Indiantown, FL, Gloria Alridge Jennings of Vero Beach, FL, Emma (Raymond) Rich of West Palm Beach, FL, Barbara Alridge of Jacksonville, FL, Richard (Diane) Alridge of Jonesboro, GA, David (Deborah) Alridge of Bradentown, FL and Cheryl Alridge of Okeechobee, FL, Diane Harvard of Atlanta, GA and Brenda Harvard of West Palm Beach, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins neighbors, church family and friends, including a life-long friend, Ronnie Paige of Jacksonville, FL. Services: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 4pm-6pm at the Port Salerno Church of God In Stuart, FL and a homegoing celebration will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the church 1:00pm with the pastor, Bishop Glenford E. Hutchinson, officiating and Reverend Alfred E. Patton, presiding. Burial will be at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart.
