Obituary for Lester Cotton, Sr.

The Obituary For the Late
Mr. Lester Cotton, Sr.

On April 20, 1937 Lester Cotton was born in Reynolds, GA to the parents of the late Allen Cotton and the late Cordella McCrary Cotton. He attended Taylor County Public Schools in Georgia, but had to drop out of school early to assist with the rearing of his siblings. While residing in Georgia, Lester was employed by Marsha Lemon Company for many years.

In 1962, he moved his family to Okeechobee, FL where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Lykes Bros. until his retirement.

He'll be remembered by those who knew him best as one who loved to joke around. His laughter was so infectious that, when you heard it, you couldn't help but join in the merriment. Lester was a fun-loving father and friend to the community.

On Saturday, September 4, 2021, Mr. Cotton transitioned peacefully at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, FL. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, A.C. Cotton and Joe Cotton.
