Mother Lessree Summerville, 86 of Jupiter, FL transitioned from earth to glory at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, FL at 12:49pm. She was born on June 25, 1933 in Leland, Mississippi to the parents of the late Reverend Joseph Hamilton, Sr. and Mamie Hamilton. Later she married the late Joseph Summerville and to this union three children were born. In 1952, she and her family moved to St. Louis, Missouri and it was there that she gave birth to her fourth and last child. Lessree always professed a belief in God from an early age and confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. In 1976 he relocated to Chicago, Illinois were she was a faithful member of the Cottage Grove Holy Temple M. B. Church under the leadership of Bishop Roosevelt Adams. She served there faithfully as an usher until she moved to Jupiter, Florida in October, 1984. It was there that she became a member of the Jupiter Church of God under the leader of Bishop John A. Thorne. She was a member of Women's Discipleship, and her proudest accomplishments within the church were: being a member of the Mother's Board, Captain of the Ruth Circle, a member and Vice-President of the Mission Dept., a member of the Bible Study Class, and being a member and teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class. Mother Summerville was blessed with a giving spirit. Not only did she give money, but she gave of herself. She loved people, both adults and children. She enjoyed taking the young people under her wings and she taught them, "What Sayeth the Lord." She had a telephone ministry which enabled her to witness to some of her friends, she visited nursing homes, passed out tracks to those willing warriors, as well as holding Bible study and prayer service in her home. She would say, "I want to follow Jesus so close that when a person looks at me, they would want to come to Jesus and be saved." Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by: 3 sisters, Katie Mae Hunter, Lee Ethel Summerville, Mother Julia McGraw and a brother, Joseph Hamilton, Jr. Remaining to cherish her precious memories are: a daughter, Toniett Summerville; 15 grandchildren, Larry, Michelle, Angie, Charles, Francisco, Jimmie Jr., Ms. Muffin, Gerald, Lessree, Willie, Shari, Aaron, April, Briana and Herman; 10 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, two special children, Sada and Jacob Mosler; 2 brothers, Alee Hamilton (Lula) of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Shield Thomas of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, church family and friends who will miss her deeply.
