Obituary for Leonard Wade Phillips Sr.

Mr. Leonard Wade Phillips, Sr., 42 of Gifford, FL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday January, 10, 2018 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL. He was born on October 5, 1975 to the parentage of Minnie Lee McCloud and Leon Phillips in Vero beach, FL.  Leonard was educated in the public schools of Indian River County  and also attended Vero Beach High School.  He was a very talented and skilled keyboardist and was employed as a musician.  Leonard played for churches throughout out the Treasure Coast and for churches in Detroit,MI where he resided for a short time. Leonard was a member of Believer's in Christ Ministries where he accepted the Lord as his personal savior under the leadership of Pastor Evangelist Martin C. Bradley, Sr.  He will always be remembered by those who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance s energetic, compassionated, loving and always willing to help others.  Leonard was known by many and loved by all. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Williams and a daughter, Lynneja Faith Ann Phillips.  Leonard is lovingly survived by: his wife, Barbara Ruth Phillips;2 sons, Leonard Wade Phillips, Jr., Corbin Antonio Phillips, and a daughter, LeAsia Nevaeh Phillips; his mother, Minnie Lee McCloud, all of Vero Beach, FL; his father, Leon Phillips of Alabama; sisters, Melissa Dupree (Marvin) of Decatur, GA, Monica Bradley (Pastor Evangelist Martin) of Vero Beach, Tabatha Hunter Henley (Darryl) of Miami, FL Angelic Douglas (Anthony) of Lithonia, GA and Alaina McCloud of Vero Beach, FL, Leondra Phillips, Monique Phillips, and Dunisha Phillips of Gifford, FL; brothers, Robert Williams, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Horace Phillips of Vero Beach, FL Leon McCloud, Jr. of Vero Beach, FL, Demetrius Phillips, Kenny Phillips, Deon Phillips, all of Gifford, FL; a goddaughter, Rayona White of Fort Pierce, FL; a godsister, Monique Mosely of Vero Beach, FL and a host of other family members including, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, church family and friends. Services:  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Wabasso, FL.  A Home Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm, Tabernacle Ministries, 51 Old Dixie Hwy in Vero Beach, FL 32962 with his pastor/brother-in-law, Evangelist Martin C. Bradley officiating, Reverend Edward Dillard, presiding and Reverend David Foster is host pastor.  Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. 2
