Obituary for Leon Booker

Deacon Leon Booker, 68, a resident of Okeechobee, FL went home to be with the Lord in the peace and quiet of his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on May 26, 2020 at 11:15pm.

He was born in Okeechobee, FL to the parents of the late Charles Chester Booker and Mizellar Louise Martin-Booker on August 30, 1951. He was educated in the public schools of Okeechobee County. Leon was employed in the maintenance department at Raulerson Hospital. Deacon Booker was a member of Hope Ministries Center Church of God in Okeechobee, FL under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth Williams. He loved his church and was faithful to the vision established there.

Deacon Booker was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who will be missed by all those who knew him best.

Remaining behind to cherish his precious memories are: a devoted and loving wife, Mary Booker of Okeechobee, FL; 2 sons, Anton (Tiff), Josh (Deborah) and 2 daughters, Star Patrice Marion and Ruth Lynn Booker; 3 stepsons, Frank Birts, Jr., Carl Birts (Carla) of Nashville, TN and Leonard Birts (Felicia) of Tampa, FL; 18 grandchildren, Keala, Trinity, Justice, Trenton, Ednal, Andrew, Andrea, Aubrielle, Kendall, Frank III, Sabrina, Teia, Lamarcus, Leiah, Langston, Chance, Carl Birts, Jr., and Caliyah; siblings, Charles Martin (Hattie) and Charles "Freddie" Booker (Lillie) both of Okeechobee, FL; Aaron Booker (Brenda) and Mose Booker (Jill) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Charles Booker and Troy Booker of Okeechobee, FL, Emma Booker (Leslie), Issac Booker (Gail) and Leroy Booker (Tren) of Homestead, FL, Joseph Booker (Catherine) of Okeechobee, FL, Marshall Booker (Ava) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Joyce Whitaker (Sylvester) of Okeechobee, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who will miss him dearly.
