Mr. Lawrence Jones, 69 of Indiantown, FL, passed away at Martin Memorial Health Systems-South on Friday, September 16, 2016, at 2:21 am. He was born in Okeechobee, FL to the parents of the late Jasper and Beatrice Rose Jones. At a very young age he moved to Indiantown, FL with his family. He was educated in the public schools of the Martin County School District and also attended Martin County High School. He was employed by Caulkin’s Juice Plant in Indiantown. Later he joined the Indiantown COG under the leadership of Reverend Daniel T. Weaver, where he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. While serving on the Deacon’s Board, he met and later married his wife, Dolly who was the love of his life until his death. He joined Thompson’s Temple COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Albert Byrd and was a member until his passing. On September 16, 2016 at 2:21am, he peacefully departed this life for eternal life at Martin Memorial Health Systems-South in Stuart, FL. Along with his parents,, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Emanuel and Robert “Bobby” Jones; and a sister, Alivra Jones. He leaves to cherish his precious and celebrate his home going; a loving wife, Dolly of Indiantown, FL; 4 brothers, Billy Jones (Sandra), Jasper Jones (Sandra), Alois Jones, all of Indiantown, FL and Teaster Jones (Debra), of Port St. Lucie, FL; 1 aunt, Mary Davis of Jacksonville, FL; 2 brothers-in-law, Sammie Scales of Indiantown, FL and Savie Scales of West Palm Beach, FL; 8 sisters-in-law, Lula Moore (Jack) and Emma Pazzaro (Pedro) of Indiantown, FL, Ethel Newton (Enice) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Mattie L. Jones of Stuart, FL, Barbara Jones of Fort Pierce, FL, and Carrie M. Jones of North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
