Obituary for Larry Lorenzo McClain

Larry Lorenzo McClain, 54 of Hobe Sound, FL went home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2014. He was born in Stuart, FL to the parents of the late James McClain, Sr. and the late Willie Mae Jones-McClain. Larry was educated in the public schools of Martin County and graduated from Martin County High School in the Class of 1979. He was employed as an automotive mechanic. Larry was a member of New Life Tabernacle EPC in Hobe Sound where he faithfully served on the pastor's aid committee and a youth advisor. Larry will lovingly be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who genuinely loved the Lord and kept the faith. He never lost focus on God. He joyfully and triumphantly crossed over the portals of glory on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Palm City Nursing and Rehab. He leaves behind to mourn his passing as well as celebrate his homegoing: a loving and devoted wife, Frances Renea (Bryant) McClain of Hobe Sound; caring children: 4 sons, Langdon Bryant of Stuart, FL, Isaiah McClain (Vanessa) of New Haven, CT, Marcus McClain and Tony McClain, both of Hobe Sound, FL; 3 daughters: Kakia McClain and Markia Wollmer, (John Sr.) both of Rantoul, IL, and Christina McClain of Hobe Sound, FL; 2 stepsons: Reginald Dryer (Malinda) of West Palm Beach, FL and Antwayn Riggs of New Haven, CT; 4 brothers: Charles McClain (Brenda) of Fort Pierce, FL, David McClain (Margaret) of Austin, TX, Robert McClain of Stanford, CT and Allen McClain of Hobe Sound, FL; 6 sisters: Pastor Lucille Y. Mason of Riviera Beach, FL, evangelist Hazel Bernard of Hobe Sound, FL, Margaret Molo (Warren) of Rome, NY, Pearl Hudson (James) of Stanford, CT, Margaret Palmer of Hyattsville, MD and Sharon McClain (Norman) of Port Salerno, FL; and a host of other relatives, including, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbors, church family and kind friends who will miss his warm, caring, charming and lovable personality, topped off with a smile that would brighten up your darkest day. Services: Viewing will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 5pm-7pm at New Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Hobe Sound, FL. A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 - 1:00 pm at the church with Bishop K.A. Tenah, Jurisdictional Prelate, Lighthouse EPC, Gainesville, FL. He will await the resurrection at the Banner Lake Cemetery in Hobe Sound. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
