Kenneth Joe Harris 53, aka "Chipmunk" of Martin County, FL departed this life at Martin Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Stuart, FL to the parents of James Monroe Harris and Mattie S. Harris-Washington. He was educated in the public schools of Martin County including Martin County High School. Kenneth was employed in the construction industry as a roofer and was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart, FL. He had an infectious smile coupled with an effervescent personality. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining his family and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his stepfather, Luther Washington. Survivors include: a son, Kenneth Davis of Stuart, FL; 4 daughters, Quintina S. Kenon of Jensen Beach, FL, Charletha A. Harris of Port St. Lucie, FL, Shakenya Harris of Stuart, FL, and Kentura Harris of Hobe Sound, FL; his parents, Mattie S. Harris-Washington and James Monroe Harris, both of Hobe Sound, FL; brothers, James Harris, Jr. and Varick Harris of Hobe Sound, FL, Cory Harris and Roderick Harris of Port Salerno, FL, Demetrius Silas of Fort Pierce, FL and Clifford Grinds of Stuart, FL; 5 sisters, Geraldine Harriel of Hobe Sound, FL, Constance McFadden of Jacksonville, FL, Evelyn Harris-Sampson and Fawn Edwards of Stuart, FL and Vivian Hannah of Fort Pierce, FL; 6 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, April, 6, 2012 at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart from 4pm-7pm. A celebration of life will be held at Hobe Sound Bible College Church, 11295 SE Gomez Avenue on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00am. Burial and dove release will follow at Banner Lake Cemetery in Hobe Sound, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest registry.
