Joanne E. Morris, 65 of Stuart, FL AKA "Joan", died at Martin Memorial Hospital-South in Stuart. She was born in Stuart, to the parents of Milton Herbert Solomon and Hilda Davis. Joanne attended Stuart Training School and was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Stuart. She was employed as a domestic worker for area private homes. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Herbert Solomon. Survivors include: 2 sons, Jeffery Davis (Mary) and William Hicks; 2 daughters, Charlene Rivers (George) and Winifred Morris; her mother, Hilda Davis all of Stuart, FL; 6 brothers, Willie Davis (Mae Lois) of Tampa, FL, Edward Solomon, Marvin Davis, Bruce Davis (Denise), Jimmy Davis (Mary) and Dennis Davis, all of Stuart, FL; 3 sisters, Norma Jean Davis (Rev. Vernon), Florene Jones (Johnny) and Nancy Cleare of Stuart, FL; 13 grandchildren,Wydeea, Nioshi and Johnathan Morris, Previn (Laketryn Mitchell), and Quincy Delancy, Lavonta and LaToya Jolly, Lekeba Davis, Wykina Harris, Joshua Rogers, Claudius and Jaquarius Beckworth and Dnyshia Howard; 5 great grands, Jardel Harris, Sariya Brown, Joudejia Rogers, Jarvel Davis and Ny'Kirria Morris; a host of nieces, nephews including special nieces, Terzella, Chloe and Cleo Cooksey; cousins and friends including a special friend, Morgan Jamison. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008 from 5pm-8pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be observed on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11:00am at St. Paul AME Church in Stuart with Reverend James Watson, Pastor/Officiating. Burial will follow at Moore's Monterey Cemetery in Stuart, FL. Thorne's Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
