Mr. Jethrow Clark, Jr. 60 of Gifford, FL died at his residence. He was born in Wabasso, FL to Jethrow Clark, Sr. and the late Jessie Pearl Ethridge Clark. He was educated in the public schools of Indian River County and graduated form Gifford High School in the Class of 1967. He grew up in the Church of God. After graduating from high school, he was inducted into the United States Army on July 31, 1967 and was honorably discharged on July 30, 1970. He was a Vietnam veteran and received the following commendations: the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Mr Clark was gainfully employed as a laborer in the construction industry. He was preceded in death by; his mother, Jessie Pearl Ethridge Clark; stepmother, Hattie P. Clark; brother, Bruce Clark; maternal grandparents, Plez & Ethel Mae Ethridge; paternal grandparents, Jim & Lila Clark. Survivors include: his father, Jethrow Clark, Sr. of Wabasso; 3 sisters, Jean Helen Keith of Ft. Pierce, Barbara G. Fryar (Fulton)of Willingboro, NJ and Lydia Clark of Wabasso; 4 nieces, Sharon Williams (Melvin) and Mary Mitchell (Tommy) of Ft. Pierce, Kimberly Cooper (Clayton) of Sebastian and Tonya McNair of Waycross, GA; 3 nephews, Chazzeric Rivers of Buffalo, NY, Reginald Clark (Ranata) of Newport News, VA and Terry Smith of Wabasso; great-nieces and great-nephews including a special great-nephew, Henry Steplin, Jr. of Ft. Pierce (whose attending Bethue-Cookman University in Daytona Beach; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services: There will be no public viewing. A "Celebration of Life" will be observed on Saturday, February 14, 2009 11:00am at the church with Rev. Sylvester McIntosh, officiating and Bishop John A. Thorne, is pastor. Burial to follow at West Wabasso Cemetery. Thorne's Mortuary, Inc. of Stuart, FL is in charge of arrangements.
