Obituary for Jessie Lee Leonard Pastor

Jessie Lee Leonard, 86, of Martin County, passed away at Martin Memorial Hospital North in Stuart, FL. He was born to the parents of the late Jessie Leonard and the late Lottie Mae Reynolds in Headland, AL. He was educated in the public schools of Henry County, AL. Minister Leonard moved to Florida from Georgia 58 years ago. Before retirement, he was the entrepreneur of Lee Haynes Marine Construction, building docks and seawalls. He was the pastor of the Port Salerno Church of Christ for 30 years. Along with his parents, Minister Leonard was preceded in death by two children: a son, Lee Leonard, Jr. and a daughter, Karen Leonard; brothers, J. C. Leonard, Gus Leonard; and a sister, Ann Pickett. Those remaining to forever cherish his precious memories are: his wife, Juanita Leonard; 4 sons, Otis Leonard, Casey Leonard, Arthur Leonard (Lenore) and Otis Leonard (Chavonya), all of Stuart, FL; 3 daughters, Louise Spann of Stuart, FL, Irene Gambles of Vero Beach, FL and Sharon Leonard of Stuart, FL; 2 brothers, Willie Leonard (Pauline) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Lewis Leonard (Wylene) of Stuart, FL; 2 sisters, Dorothy Nell (Davis) of Miami, FL and Margaret Green of Stuart, FL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Services: Visitation will be held at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart, FL from 6pm-8pm ON Friday, August 12, 2016. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at the Stuart Church of Christ, 1071 SE 10th Street, Stuart, FL on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 10 am. He will await the resurrection at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary.
