Obituary for Jeromy Alexander Stone Sr.

Jeromy Alexander Stone, 77 of Stuart, FL died at Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, FL. He was born in Port Salerno, FL to the parents of the late John Thomas Stone and the late Julia Mitchell Stone. Mr. Stone attended the the public schools of Martin County, FL including Stuart Training School. Before retirement he was a self-employed cabinet maker. He attended Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart. He was one of the original lead singers for the well known Voices of The South Quartet Singers, and will be missed for his electrifying and melodious singing. Mr. Stone was well loved by all who was fortunate enough to have made his acquaintance and was a good friend and neighbor in his community. Along with his parents, Thomas and Julia Stone, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Bloneva Stone McColister, Mildred Stone Rolle and Mamie Lee Stone Brown (deceased 2/13/2009); and a brother, John Wade Stone. Surviving to cherish his precious memories are: a devoted wife, Grace Mae Stone of Stuart; sons, Atty. Jerome Stone (Vivian), Jr. of Port Saint Lucie, Craig Stone, Jerome Stone, III and Demarius "Mario" Souter of Columbia, SC; daughters, Clara Mae Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Luvenia Brooks (Malcolm) of Port Salerno, FL, Theresa Stone of New York and Wylene Leonard (Lewis)of Port Saint Lucie, FL; step-daughter, Tangela Sanders (Lonnie) of Port Saint Lucie, FL; an only brother, Henry Stone of McCrae, GA; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and neighbors who will certainly miss him. Services: Visitation will be held at Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart from 4pm-7pm on Friday, December 11, 2009. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00am, Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Elker L. Harris, Pastor/Officiating and Bishop John A. Thorne (a very close friend), Presiding/Pastor of the Wabasso Church of God. Burial will follow at Banner Lake Cemetery in Hobe Sound, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary of Stuart. Please sign the guest book.
