James Thomas Ambrose, 83 of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was born in Antiqua, West Indies to the parents of the late Joshua and the late Amelia Ambrose. He was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 16 yrs., moving from Washington, DC. James was a member of Open Bible Christian Fellowship Church in Port St. Lucie. Before retirement, he was gainfully employed as an automotive mechanic. He was a football sports fan and enjoyed watching wresting and music television. Along with his parents, James was also preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Ambrose. He leaves behind to cherish precious memories: a loving wife, Iris Ambrose of Port St. Lucie, FL; stepsons, Michael Cox (Greta) of Maryland and Trevor Cox (Kimberley) of Wilmington, NC; daughters, Shaun Ambrose of London and Vevica Tobias of Maryland; a brother, Sydney Ambrose; and nieces, Karen, Cynthia, Barbara and Nicole; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services: A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, 11:00am at the Open Bible Christian Fellowship Church in Port St. Lucie, 10694 S US Hwy 1 - Suite A. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart.
