Hilda Solomon Davis,92,a long time resident of Stuart, FL went home to be with the Lord at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, FL on February 19, 2011. She was born in Jensen Beach, FL to the parents of the late William Solomon and the late Amanda Cash Solomon. She attended the public schools of Martin County, FL. Ms. Davis was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Stuart and served as a former member of Choir #1. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Along with her parents Ms. Davis was also preceded in death by 5 children, Carol Ann Lotts, Joann Morris, Janet Greene, Herbert Ronald Davis, Sr., and Marvin Lewis Davis, Sr.; 3 sisters, Edna Mitchell, Mable Smith and Winnie Christopher; 3 brothers, Wilfred Solomon, Joe Solomon and Herbert Solomon. Surviving to cherish precious memories are: 5 sons, Edwin L. Solomon, Willie S. Davis (Mary "May Lois"), Jimmie R. Davis (Mary) and Dennis Davis, Bruce A. Davis (Denice) all of Stuart, FL; 3 daughters, Norma Jean Davis(Rev. Vernon Davis), Florene M. Jones (Johnnie)of Stuart, FL and Nancy A. Cleare of Port St. Lucie, FL; a sister, Ruth Coleman of Detroit, MI; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 4pm-7pm at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Stuart, FL. A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011, 2pm at the church with the pastor, Reverend James C. Watson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Monterey Moore's Cemetery in Stuart, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please the guest registry.
