Obituary for Herbert L. Black

Mr. Herbert L. Black, 70 a resident of Indiantown, FL passed away in the peace and quietness of his home, surrounded by the love and tears of his family, on Monday, October 31, 2016. He was born in Pahokee, FL to the parents of Hosea Jean Cox and Melbert Edwards on March 2, 1946. He completed his primary and secondary education the public schools of Palm Beach County, FL. Herbert was employed as a supervisor in solid waste. Mr. Black served in the United States Army and fought in the Viet Nam War.  He attended Evergreen First Missionary Baptist Church in Indiantown, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Black; a brother, Coy Wilson, Jr., 2 sisters, Rhonda Bedford and Pandora Edwards. He is lovingly survived by: daughters, Phyllis Jones (Gregory) of Riviera Beach, FL, Saglenda Black of WPB, FL, Michelle Black of Atlanta, GA, Melody Black of WPB, FL Mersheka Black and Kimberly Black of Indiantown, FL and Jill Keyes if Indiantown, FL; 21 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Leroy Gillins of Indiantown, FL and Frank Eugene Gillins of Miami, FL; 4 sisters, Stella L. Gillins and Gloria Jean Shirley of Indiantown, FL, Barbara Jean Hipps (Terry) of Avon Park, FL and Agnes Riggins (Sylvester) of Indiantown, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, 11am-12 o'clock noon at Evergreen First Missionary Baptist Church in Indiantown, FL. A celebration of life will begin promptly at 12 o'clock noon.
