Obituary for Henrietta "Holmes" Hones

Henrietta Hones, 89, of Jupiter and formerly a resident of Indiantown and Riviera Beach, died at the Jupiter Medical Center Pavilion where she had been a resident since 2007. She was born in Thomasville, GA to the parents of the late Johnny and the late Carrie Leaks Graham. She was a member of Deliverance Evangelistic Temple (formerly in Ft. Pierce), FL but frequently worshipped with her family at Word of Life International Ministries in West Palm Beach, FL until her health began to fail. Along with her parents, Johnny and Carrie Leaks Graham, she was also preceded in death by: her husbands, Buddy Coats and John Hones; stepfather, Deacon Richard Mills; a brother, Samuel Turner; and children, Arthur Payne, Coley Diggs, Carrie Ann Hones, Ivin Hones and grandson, Kevin Coats. Survivors include: 2 sons, Minister Charles Lance Coats, Sr. (Carolyn) of Indiantown and Billy Holmes of Stuart, FL; a daughter, Sherly Parks (Freeman) of West Palm Beach, FL; children that she raised, Tymone Hones (Christine)of Lake Park, FL, LaShawnda Jackson and Steve Holmes of West Palm Beach, FL, and Billie Holmes, Jr. (Laleatha) of Beraufirt, SC; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives, including, 2 nieces, Margaret Sample (Jared) of Gipert, AZ and Sandra Benion of Detroit, MI; cousins, in-laws and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009 from 4pm-7pm at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Indiantown. "A Homegoing Celebration" will be observed on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 11:00am at the church, with the Reverend Ronald Hinkle, pastor of Word of Life International Ministries, in West Palm Beach, FL officiating, Elder Herman Felton, presiding and the Reverend Robert Willis is pastor. Burial will follow at Port Mayaca Cemetery in Port Mayaca, FL. Thorne's Mortuary, Inc. of Stuart is in charge of arrangements.
