Obituary for Harry Lynburg Porter Jr.

Harry Lynburgh Porter, Jr., 62, a resident of Jacksonville, FL and a former resident of Indiantown, FL passed away at UF Health Jacksonville in Jacksonville, FL. Harry, aka "Bubba", was born in Poughkeepsie, NY to the parents of the late Harry Lynburg Porter, Sr. and Ernestine Crowell Wilson. Later he moved to Indiantown, FL with his family.  Bubba grew up in Indiantown with his cousins Reverend Henry Porter and Albert Porter Spann where they were raised by his step-mother, the late Willie Mae Porter and his father Harry Sr.  He attended the public schools of Martin County including Martin County High School. He was of the Baptist faith. During his lifetime, "Bubba" worked in the citrus industry but, his passion was for construction work.  He was a hard worker, up until the time that his health started to fail him. Remaining behind to cherish his memory are: his children, Terry Lynburg Porter of Stuart, FL, La-Tonya Denise Porter and Tequilla Layvonne Porter of Fort Pierce, FL; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; his mother, Ernestine Crowell of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Carolyn Smith of Jacksonville, FL and Hattie Pernell of WPB, FL. Services:  Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 5pm-6pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel.  A service of remembrance will begin 6pm at the chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
