Gus C. Leonard, an 80 year old resident of Stuart, FL, passed away on October 14, 2011 at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Headland, AL and moved to Stuart, FL from Miami, FL in 1970. Before retirement he was employed as a truck driver for a bread company. He was a member of the Port Salerno Church of Christ. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Gus Tyrone Leonard and Bernard Leonard; a sister, Ann Pickett and a brother, J. C. Leonard. Survivors include: his wife, Nedell Leonard of Stuart, FL; 12 sons, Joe C. Leonard (Sarah) of Charlotte, NC, Willie Frank (Tammy), Alvin Leonard, Robert Leonard, Allen Leonard (Rhonda), Alfred Leonard (Krystal) and Ron Leonard, all of Donalsonville, GA, Johnny Leonard of Hobe Sound, FL, Kenneth Leonard and Calvin Barnes of Miami, FL, Edward Pinke and Cephas Norris Leonard (Migdalia DeJesus) of Stuart, FL; 3 daughters, Felicia Leonard of Port St. Lucie, FL, Shameka Clemons of West Palm Beach, FL and Patricia Green (Booker T.) of Iron City, GA; 3 brothers, Pastor Jessie Lee Leonard (Juanita) of Stuart, FL, Willie C. Leonard (Pauline) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Lewis (Wylene Jamison) of Hobe Sound, FL; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Nell of Miami, FL and Margaret Green (Clifton Green, III) of Stuart, FL; 47 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a godson, Clifford Delancy; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 4pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart, FL and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00am, Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jessie Lee Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Monterrey Moores Cemetery in Stuart.
