Gertrude T. Powell, 61 of Hobe Sound, FL passed away October 17, 2015 at Martin Health Systems-South. She was born in Vero Beach to the late Mr. Willie Frank Taylor and Ruby Johnson-Taylor. She served as a homemaker for many years. Survivors include her husband, Lonnie G. Powell of Hobe Sound, FL; son, Robert Taylor (Emily) of Gainesville, FL; daughter, Ruby Dixon (Damian) of Orlando, FL; 1 sister, Loraine Jackson of Vero Beach, FL; 5 Grandchildren and a host of other relatives, church family and friends. SERVICES: Visitation will be held from 10 to 11AM at New Mt. Zion MBC in Hobe Sound, FL with a service to begin at 11AM. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Cemetery, formally Banner Lake Cemetery.
