Obituary for Gaynell Jeanette Chandler

On June 18, 1960, the lives of the late Monroe Chandler and the late Author Ruth Chandler was blessed again with the birth of a beautiful baby girl, whom they chose to name, " Gaynell Jeanette". in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

For the majority of her youth, she resided in Indiantown, FL with her family after moving there in the early 1970's. Her primary education was completed in the public schools of Martin County, FL and she attended Martin County HIgh School in Stuart, FL. Gaynelle attended Evergreen Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend J.L. Gary with her family.

In 1995, as an adult, she relocated to Ocala, FL with her significant other and their 6 children.

Despite the adversity she faced, Gaynell kept God primary in her life. She devoted herself to providing her children with the proper upbringing and being a nana.

If you had known Gaynell, you would know that she loved to play bingo with with her daughter/best friend, Melissa. One passionate and devoted Florida Gators fan, she was a beautiful, strong woman, an amazingly loving mother, an awesome nana, sister and friend.

She never judged anyone and welcomed all with open arms. The majority of her acquaintances and children's friends embraced her warm, motherly spirit and called her, "Ma" or "Mama".

Most of all, she loved all of her children unconditionally. She is the inspiration behind the Daughters, Mothers, and Sisters United Foundation..

Gaynell, our mother and our queen, you will truly be missed but forever in our hearts! Thank you for the principles that you instilled in us, your countless sacrificies, and the tons of love that you poured into us.

Along with her parents, Monroe and Author Ruth Chandler, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Lampkins, 3 sisters, Frances Gray-Beathia, Betty Chandler and Laverne Chandler; and 1 brother, Willie Chandler.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: 2 daughters, Alexis Lampkins of Ocala, FL and Nicole Lampkins of Sarasota, FL; 3 sons, Atlas Lampkins of Tallahassee, FL, Cassius Lampkins of Gainesville, FL and Pate Lampkins, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; 5 beautiful grandchildren, "nana's babies".
