Gary Michael Thompson, 60, departed this life peacefully at Treasure Coast Hospice, Hay Madiera House in Stuart, FL on Sunday morning, 3:46am. "Blinkey", as he was affectionately known to his family and close friends, was born to the parents of the late Henry Smith and the late Rovena Thompson on January 4, 1956. He was educated in the Martin County Public Schools. During his lifetime, he worked in the construction industry. Gary loved sports, playing cards and dominos. Throughout his life, the Reverend Alfred E. Patton was his spiritual leader, which increased his faith, hope and trust in our compassionate; yet gracious and merciful Savior, Jesus Christ. The times that he spent with Gary made a deep impact on his life as he developed a relationship with Christ. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Kelvin. Left to cherish his precious memories are: his special friend and mother of his children, Loretta Washington; 2 loving daughters, JoRhonda Thompson and Cotrina Washington; 2 devoted sons, Gary Jamel Thompson (Yadira) and Jatory Thompson, all of Port Salerno, FL; 5 lovable grandchildren, Gary Jamel Thompson, Jr., JaMiya Thompson, Jase Thompson, Jalisse Thompson and Jermohn Queen, all of Port Salerno, FL; an only brother, Henry Joseph Thompson, "MeMe" (Sylvia) of Fort Pierce, FL; and a host of other relatives, including nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors namely all decedants of Mother Pinder Gibson Thompson, Mrs. Altamese Rolle and family, Farrell Graham family, George Dotson and family and others too numerous to list. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart, FL. A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 - 2:00pm at the Port Salerno Church of God, 4605 SE Cove Road in Stuart, FL 34997 with Reverend Alfred E. Patton officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of their family's funeral home, Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
